Lauren Edwards is a winner in Mijas

Lauren Edwards posted a British win on the Costa de Sol tour in Mijas, heading the five-year-old on Breit Star. She took victory by 1.33 sec on Andy Doswell’s Breitling LS/Sir Corland gelding. Lauren also claimed sixth on the Cardento-sired Carumba on four faults in round one, followed closely by Sebastian Bishop with Springsteen and Graham Babes on Ma Fleur JS in seventh and eighth.

Graham netted third on Glencoe in the six-year-old. The Chellthago/Numero Uno gelding finished five sec in arrears of the winning time. Adrian Whiteway guided Kimba (It’s The Business/Tinka’s Boy) into sixth and Lauren Edwards was also double clear on Kesara (Kannan/Grandilot) for seventh.

Stacey Babes jumped double clear on Flairvona (Air Jordan/Numero Uno) to take sixth in the seven-year-old eight sec behind the winning time. New Zealand’s Bruce Goodin claimed the top two places on Cloi and Chacceldi. Helena Cassir returned on clear and four with Aidy des Forets for eighth.

In Oliva Nova on the Spring MET III tour, Jamie Wingrove slotted the Wells family’s consistent mare Heartstring (Cicero Z van Paemel/Heartbreaker) into sixth in a hotly-contended seven-year-old. The pair finished two and a half sec behind the winner. Louise Whitaker, a winner on the Mijas tour in the past month, moved to Oliva Nova this week and took 10th on Brendon Stud’s Warrior/Caretino Glory mare Special Warrior. Also jumping double clear was David McPherson on CC and Skye Higgin with Aonia Domain and Anasazi du Tillard.

James Wilson was best in the six-year-old with four faults on Gossip SA.
