Louise Saywell dazzles in Denmark

Louise Saywell was close to victory on the final day in Herning, Denmark, but had to settle for second in the 1.40m accumulator.

Of the 31 starters, 14 posted maximum scores with Louise easing Billy Twomey’s big-jumping Dassler (Douglas/Cassini II) into second by 0.86 sec. Denmark’s Linnea Ericsson-Grey took the win Pacome des Plains.

Clear in round one of the medium tour 1.45m final, Graham Lovegrove and the eight-year-old Cicero daughter Jakarta van de Roshoeve d’14 dropped to 12th in the 14-strong jump-off after lowering two rails. Louise and Peiter – a winner on day one – returned on four faults in round one for 18th.
