Tim Page is on the money in Vilamoura

Tim Page continued his winning form in Vilamoura, and went one better than the previous day’s victory.  The on-form Tim lifted the top two places in the 1.35m, winning on Friday’s victor Steady the Helm and taking second on the eight-year-old Amadeus/Tygo mare Elvera.  0.90 sec separated the two and their nearest rival was more than three sec behind.  Four faults in this speed class dropped James Smith (Cumina) and Emma Stoker (Miss Moneypenny) down to 16th and 17th.   

Philip Spivey was best Brit in the 3* 1.45m on the nine-year-old Darya I Nur.  Tracey and Greg Forrest’s home-bred Diamant de Semilly/Demonstrator mare jumped a super clear in this 59-strong speed class to finish 3.39 sec in arrears to winner, Portugal’s Mario Wilson Fernandes on Tidelio des Nauves.  Emily Ward slotted the Oklund 14-year-old Wild Rose into sixth and Philip claimed eighth on second ride Ard VDL Douglas 12-year-old VDL Cassius.  James Smith stepped up the Berlin/Casco eight-year-old Just Max to clear all the fences and just pick up two time faults for 13th spot.

Emma Stoker was the sole Brit in the 14-strong jump-off of the 1.40m and took seventh on the eight-year-old Shelby 12 (Stolzenberg/For Pleasure).  They were 1.74 sec behind the winner, Brazil’s Cassio Rivetti on Dayton Sitte.  Nicole Pavitt dropped out of the running with four faults in round one to put Gemmarco 16 into 19th.

 

Alicia Page claimed fourth in the 1.30m accumulator with the Lordanos nine-year-old Illusion VI.  The pair finished more than eight sec behind speedy leader Julien Gonin for France on Vipper du Lavoir.

 

Abbie Summers was in the frame of the 1.20m, taking second and sixth.  She guided the 12-year-old Quality daughter Quantas into second to finish 3.15 sec behind the winner and brought second ride Domino VI (Mr Darcy/Kannan) into sixth spot.  Vanessa Jobson-Scott jumped into ninth on Crocantino of Greenhill Z with Charlotte Miekle and Virginia 188 in 10th.  Also clear was Angela Eardley (Jesta van de Noordhoek) and Charlotte on second ride Zicero D for 17th and 18th respectively.

 

Callum Linning was 2.50 sec in arrears for second in the 1.10m on the seven-year-old Carrighill Russelle (Russel/Harlquin du Carel).  Vanessa Jobson-Scott jumped into seventh on the Arko III/Wolfgang six-year-old Follyfoot Arkadia and Sam Wall was 10th on Sue and Katie McCreath’s Graf Top 10-year-old Gwen Stefani.  Ellie Mantel also posted a double clear on Nikko for 12th..
