Rachael Connor doubles up at Northcote Stud

Rachael Connor doubled up on day one at Northcote Stud’s three day winter championships.

She jumped to the top in the concluding 1.30m on the Oklund/Lux 14-year-old Lottie III, pushing Claire Shepherd-Bramham into second on the Conterno Grande/Animo nine-year-old El Diablo Grande. Martin Lucas netted third on Ibo II.

And Rachael commandingly claimed the top two Foxhunter/grade C places with two mares, the 10-year-old Hinde and the Larino 11-year-old B Valeree. Sarah Winterbottom took third on Katie I with Donny Janciauskus in fourth on Cool Scendy. Brian Thompson slotted Aredis de la Rose into fifth just ahead of Al Yaqub in sixth on Cassago.

Lucy Henderson headed the newcomers aboard the Junior Mariner eight-year-old The Dude 7 to push Martin Lucas into second on Novita Jovial. Donny Janciauskas took third on Cool Quartz with Brian Thompson fourth on Millfield Cascade. Alister Hippisley-Gatherum claimed fifth on Edenside Elvis with Ben Lamb aixth on Kief Starlight.

Dan Delsart topped the British novice on the 11-year-old Calidus II (Calido I/Acord II), relegating Claire Shepherd-Bramham’s Va Vite seven-year-old Venezuela DH Z into second place. Catherine Jones jumped into third on Beta Librae with Alister in fourth on Edenside Elvis.

And Dan almost made it two, but he had to settle for second in the discovery on All Time, beaten to the top spot by Chelsea Jones aboard the Gentle Diamond nine-year-old Galway Diamond Queen. Ben Lamb took third on Roody van Doody with Claudia Jones fourth on Early Shirley, Alister Hippelsey-Gatherum’s G-Star took fifth and Jessica Crippen rode into sixth with Hollins Enesco.

Lynsey Tough claimed the 1.10m on the Larino eight-year-old Elocia with Scarlett Ward in second on Milena 8.
