Anna powers to a win in Mijas
Anna Power galloped ahead in the Master 1.35m speed to take victory on the Costa del Sol tour in Mijas. She took the win by 0.42 sec on the Chippendale Z 11-year-old Chesterfield Z from fellow Brit Louise Whitaker and Team Harmony’s Kannan daughter Cleopatra. Anna also picked up ninth place on Edison V.
Lara Whiteway claimed second in the Master 1.30m on Bellagio, the Contender/Lascadell 13-year-old finishing 1.52 sec behind the winner, Spain’s Laura Roquet Puignero on Dynamite Z. Husband and wife team William and Pippa Funnell claimed seventh and eighth on Billy Manjaro and Billy Starlet and Anna took 15th with second ride Dauphin.
Lara jumped into fourth in the 1.20m speed with Cavalia WH more than three sec behind the winner. Lauren Edwards took sixth aboard Carnaval Cocktail with Julie Slade in seventh on Billy Angelo and Megan Broadway in eighth aboard Curosa III. Jessica Blatchford finished ninth on Chennai, Sophie Garfield-Bennet guided Cirmosa into 12th and Gemma Wright eased On Board Candy into 14th.
Lauren Edwards and Andy Doswell’s consistent six-year-old Expresso (Pall Mall H/Kannan) posted another win in the 1.10m, this time with a 2.33 sec advantage. Jessica Blatchford took fifth on Clementienne with Francesca Draycott in sixth on Fernhill Fair Cruise and Ben Clark in eihth aboard Clarence II.
In the Premium 1.40m Brits opted for steady clears to finish down the order. Anna Power claimed 14th on Fix Date with Louise Whitaker on Abeer II OL in 15th, John Whitaker took 16th on Chino D’Enfer and William Funnell slotted Billy Dorito in 17th.
Four faults in the second round of the Premium 1.30m dropped Sienna Charles and Dipina to 12th. Leo Lamb wasn’t far behind for 14th with Oldtown KC.
