Molly makes it two in Lier

Molly Andrews didn’t rest on her laurels. Just 24 hours after claiming her first International win, Molly, 17, took victory in the 1.10m. She again partnered Renkum Aristocat, a British-bred Renkum Valentino 10-year-old, to head the 1.10m by 1.86 sec. Sweden’s Catherine Jansson Silfverling took second on on Smilla.

And Annabel Shields, already a winner here earlier in the week, topped the 1.25m with one and a half sec to hand with My Casall, a Cassini II/Casall eight-year-old.

William Whitaker and Jessie Drea were in the mix in the concluding 1.45/1.50m grand prix, both producing first round clears. But four faults in the jump-off dropped out of the top places.

Twelve of the 65 starters accessed the jump-off, with William guiding the 14-year-old Diablesse de Muze (Baloubet du Rouet/Naba de Reve) into seventh. Jessie and the 12-year-old Irco Mena/Touchdown stallion Mullaghdrin Touch the Stars were slightly slower for 10th. Annabel on Wet Wet Wet and Julie Andrews with Ayrton IV dropped out on eight faults.

William eased the Emerald van’t Ruytershof/Nonstop eight-yeasr-old Justin van de Zandhoeve into sixth in the 1.35m with the steadiest of the double clears, eight sec behind the pace. Annabel and Carnoneybridge Challenger returned on five faults in round one.
