Carron Nicol impresses with her talented six-year-olds in Mijas

Carron Nicol jumped two super double clears on her impressive six-year-olds in their age class on the Costa del Sol tour in Mijas. The talented stallion Galerius (Diamant de Semilly/Sandro Boy) claimed third 1.45 sec behind the winner, and the home-bred Fantaland son Moonraker took fifth.

Lauren Edwards jumped two easy, clean rounds for 11th on Kesara and Adrian Whiteway was 17th with clear and four on Kimba. On four in round one was Lauren and second ride Expresso, Lara Whiteway (Comporta de Mies), Ben Raistrick (Cool Boy) and Eloise Guy (Gigidermie).

Bethanie Knight jumped into fifth in the seven-year-old on new ride of one month Cassalfino (Casall/Corofino II). Only three posted double clears, with Bethanie jumping for clear and four to take a lower place. Carron Nicol (Finnegan D) and Richard Howley (Renkum Ruby Rouge) both picked up four faults in round one and Louise Whitaker’s Special Warrior and Stacey Babes (Flairvona) came home on five.

Lauren guided Andy Doswell’s Carumba (Cardento/Grandilot) into fifth in the five-year-olds. Double clears proved scarce and only four returned clean sheets, Lauren the fastest four in the jump-off. Ben Raistrick notched up a similar score on Heaven Can Wait E for sixth and also took 11th on Hessel with four faults in round one.
