Lauren Edwards kicks off week two at the Costa del Sol with a win

Lauren Edwards made day one of week two on the Costa del Sol tour, Mijas, a winning one with a five-year-old victory. She rode the Cardento/Grandilot mare Carumba into the top spot by 1.64 sec.

Brits claimed the top two spots, with Ben Raistrick easing Heaven Can Wait E (Up to Date/Cavalier) into second. Carron Nicol pushed the home-bred Fantaland into sixth on clear and four. Lauren on Breit Star and Ben with Hessel jumped for four and clear to take 10th and 11th respectively.

Carron jumped into fifth in the six-year-old with the talented stallion Galerius (Diamant de Semilly/Sandro Boy) with a sensible steady double clear to finish 3.30 sec behind the winner.

Lauren Edwards slotted into ninth with Kesara 22 (Kanan/Grandilot) and Ben Raistrick was close behind for 10th with Cool Boy. On clear and four was Carron with Moonraker,Lauren (Expresso), Lara Whiteway (Comporta de Mies) and Eloise Guy (Gigidermie) and Olivia Skinner finished on clear and five aboard Heather M.

Bethanie Knight was best Brit in the seven-year-old, jumping into fifth on Cassalfino (Casall/Corofino II) with a double clear 2.19 sec off the pace. Leonne George eased Katinka into seventh with Louise Whitaker in eighth on Special Warrior. Ireland’s Richard Howley was also double clear on Goulton Emperor Claudius for 11th and Stacey Babes took 14th on Flairvona with clear and one time fault. Carron Nicol scored clear and four with Finnegan D.
