Louise Whitaker is in the money in Mijas

Louise Whitaker guided Cleopatra into second in the Costal del Sol tour’s Master 1.35m speed in Mijas, won by Egypt’s Sameh el Dahan on Limelight de Breve – a winner of numerous classes for Laura Renwick before she was sold. Louise was four sec in arrears on Team Harmony’s Kannan 10-year-old Cleopatra, and Anna Power slotted Dauphin into fourth. Pippa Funnell was ninth on Billy Congo with Ashlee Harrison right behind on Toupie d Quesnoy and Eloise Guy finished 15th aboard Revel de Pantomime. Harry Charles (Rooney IV) and Max Routledge (Firkov du Rouet) both returned four faults.

Louise also featured in the 1.40m, where just nine of the 57 starters accessed the jump-off. Louise provided a steady double clear on Team Harmony’s Cero/Kannan nine-year-old Udget du Rozel to finish fourth some 12 sec behind the winner. Max Routledge followed suit on the promising eight-year-old Sieco for fifth and William Funnell slotted Billy Fanta into ninth. Louise also took 15th on Ruby VIII with two time faults and Harry Charles was 20th on four faults in round one with Valkiry de Zance.

Max Routledge claimed victory in the Premium 1.40m speed, riding La Lou de Rouet, a Balou du Rouet nine-year-old previously ridden by Clark Glasgow. They claimed a 0.23 sec advantage to win. Scarlett Charles jumped into third on Sacree du Rouet and Bethanie Knight took 11th on Cassalfino with Sienna Charles 12th aboard Chaitanya 2.

Lauren Edwards jumped into fifth in the Master 1.30m on Carnaval Cocktail, the Kannan/Carnaval Drum nine-year-old proving more than three sec in arrears of winner Jules Orsolini of France on Zazoe. Pippa Funnell and West Falica took sixth and Loise Whitaker guided Abeer II OL into 10th. Also posting clears was Harry Charles (Foline) and Stacey Babes (Belle Epoque) and Jamie Gornall incurred a time fault with Clarence X.

Lara Whiteway (Bellagio II), Eloise Guy (Obora’s Gravity) and William Funnell (Billy Dorito) came home on four and Daisy Davis (Anatar II) returned five faults.

Anna Power eased the Applaus eight-year-old Edison V into fifth in the Premium 1.30m, four and a half sec behind the winner, France’s Jules Orsolini and Roxanne des Etisses. Ben Clark and Lanverdel took ninth, Ireland’s Richard Howley jumped into 11th on Culandro and Victoria Garfield-Bennet was 13th with Raphoe Ella.

Stacey Babes (Cazador LS) and and Sienna Charles (Dipina) came home on one time fault.

Brits lifted five of the top six places in the premium 1.20m with Leonne George repeating her victory of 24 hours earlier on the 14-year-old I Candy II, winning by a quarter of a second. Lara Whiteway guided the Indoctro 10-year-old Cavalia WH into second with Honor Draycott third aboard the Lux z 10-year-old Lux de Lux. Pippa Funnell eased Billy Starlet into fifth with Ben Clark and Clarence in sixth. Julie Slade jumped steadier rounds for 15th and 19th on Billy Angelo and Nicholas 55 with Skye Klein in 22nd on Heavy C.

Megan Broadway finished fourth in the 1.10m on Danturano with Jessica Bletchford in fifth on Clementienne.
