Jack Whitaker is in the mix in Offenburg

Jack Whitaker jumped Stakkato de Fee, a Stakkato Gold 12-year-old, into a creditable third place in the 1* 1.40m at Offenburg, Germany. They were just half a sec behind the winner. Millie Allen and the Balou du Rouet 12-year-old stallion Balou Star also posted a clear in this speed class for eighth.

And Jack’s father Michael followed suit, taking third in the 1.50m with Jayne Bean’s Locarno/Cavalier Royale 11-year-old JB’s Hot Stuff. Eleven of 61 gained round one clears to contend the jump-off, with Michael easing into third 2.23 sec behind the winner, the Netherlands; Robert Vos on Carat.

Millie provided a clean sheet in the 1.30m two-phase to take 11th on the Davenport’s Voltaire/Nimmerdor nine-year-old One Endeavour. And Jack wasn’t far behind, in 13th aboard Cherryfras de Rialfo Z.

Michael’s talented eight-year-old stallion son of Lylord Carthago Valmy de la Lande cleared all the fences with air to spare in the 3* 1.40m, but they picked up three time faults in a careful, steady round.
