Scott Brash is in the money in Leipzig

Scott Brash jumped into third in the 1.50m, a qualifier for the FEI world cup on Sunday at Leipzig, Germany, with Hello Annie. This competiton ran as a one-round speed with Switzerland’s Pius Schwizer taking the win on Leonard de la Ferme CH. Scott guided the Contednro I/For Pleasure 13-year-old Annie into third to slot behind Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum on Chaman, 1.09 sec behind the mighty German and 3.28 sec behind the winner. Denis Lynch was best of the Irish with sixth on Echo de Laubry.

Shane Breen gave the Vigo d’Arsouilles 12-year-old Golden Hawk his first run in Leipzig to notch up just one time fault in the 1.45m speed to take 11th. Michael Whitaker and Cassionato jumped for three time faults and Scott Brash and Ursula XII finished on seven.

In Drachten 3*, Holland, James Billington brought VDL Friso SMH, a Bugatti VDL/Chin Chin seven-year-old, into eighth in the young horse 1.30/1.35m speed almost six sec behind the pace. James gave the Berlin/Nimmerdor eight-year-old Comfortuna VDL plenty of time to finish on one time fault.

James finished on two time faults in the second phase of the 1.35m with the Mr Blue/Chin Chin 10-year-old Celena VDL for 17th place.
