Billy Twomey takes the grand prix in La Coruna

Billy Twomey maxed on his final draw to head the Longines 1.60m grand prix with Terry Payne’s Vangelis 13-year-old Diaghilev in La Coruna 5*, Spain. Eight of the 41 starters jumped initial clears to access the jump-off, with Billy taking the win in his usual smooth, deceptively fast style by 0.26 sec.

Italy’s Alberto Zorzi on Fair Light Van’t Heike finished second. Guy Williams and Titus finished on eight faults and Ben Maher’s Don Vito came home on 12.

Tamarin Christie finished 13th in the 1.40m speed on Grupo Prom Calabis with a steady clear.
