Annabel Shields posts a hat-trick in Roosendaal
Annabel Shields got Roosendaal 2*, Netherlands, off to a flying start, winning three of the four classes on day one.
Seventy-two tackled the 1.40m speed, but Annabel – already winner of two classes – outpaced all her rivals on the Mr Blue 13-year-old Wet Wet Wet to win by half a sec. Nicole Pavitt slotted the eight-year-old Douglas daughter Doucardi into fourth, finishing more than two sec behind Annabel.
Brits lifted the top two in the 2* 1.35m speed, Annabel taking the win on Carnoneybridge Challenger, a Hermes de Reve/Burggraaf eight-year-old. They had a 0.44 sec advantage over Jonathan Dixon, in second on the Vleut nine-year-old Camona. Ashlee Harrison jumped a steady clear on Zahra II for 23rd.
Annabel’s day started with victory in the 1* 1.20m, the Cassini II/Casall seven-year-old My Casall taking the win by 0.72 sec. Megan Howard rode Ullina De Caumont into 12th and Jonathan Dixon dropped out of contention with one time fault aboard Da Vinci.
Graham Lovegrove jumped double clear on Jakarta Van De Roshoeve d’14 in the 2* 1.30m, but their steady time dropped them into 24th.
