John Whitaker is in the mix at the Longines Paris Masters
John Whitaker claimed third in the 5* 1.50m on the fresh and eager Argento at the Longines Paris Masters. Only four of the 47 starters reached the jump-off after posting initial clears, with John and the Arko stallion son finishing on four faults in the second round, although the fault made no difference to their place in the order. Scott Brash and Hello Guv’Nor returned eight faults in the first round.
Jessica Mendoza jumped for maximum points in the 2* 1.35m accumulator on the nine-year-old Horst Van De Mispelaere, but their steady time put them in 18th place.
Brits were out of luck in the 1.45m Table C speed, dominated by French riders. Kevn Staut won on Elky van het Indihof, winning from fellow Frenchman Julien Epaillard on Cristallo A LM. John took a fall but both he and Lord of Arabia are fine.
