The latest riders and coaches selected for the 'Step up to Gold' programme
Nine riders and five coaches have been chosen from the selection days held in October for British Showjumping’s ‘Step up to Gold’ programme.
The training programme will focus on riders making the transition to 1.40m tracksand become established at that level. The riders are:
Rachael Connor (pictured above on Fantastic) from Lancashire
Michaela Huntington from Essex (pictured at Horse of the Year Show on Alegro Z)
Lisa Jones from South and West Yorkshire (pictured on Diana P)
Katie Pytches of Leicestershire (pictured on Jolie Fleur at HOYS 2016)
Lucy Turner from Leicestershire (pictured here with Fantasy II)
Georgia Lovett from Warwickshire (pictured here on Westend Gunner)
They are joined by Philip Curtis from South and West Yorkshire, Sussex-based Nicki Bates and Guy Elson from Kent
The selected coaches are: Lee Williams from the South region (pictured above on Jenson 55). Edward Brook from the East region and Michael Jones from the West region.
On British Showjumping's 'Young Professionals' 12-month funded programme, which focuses on developing and progressing the participants in their chosen equestrian career via busines workshops, UKCC qualification and hands on experience with a top level coach, is Nottinghamshire-based Beth Vernon (pictured above on Lotus) and Lincolnshire's Amelia Bowring for coaching and Staffordshire's Issy King and Steph Gumn for breeding.
