November 18, 2016

Jamie Wingrove was 0.71 sec behind the pace for fourth in Kronenberg’s 1.40m at the De Peelbergen Equestrian Centre with a good double clear on Ruth Reay’s Chellano Z 12-year-old Cardigan Z.  One time fault prevented Stacey Babes from contending the second on Iceman De Muze in the 75-horse class.

Jamie also featured in the young horse 1.30/1.35m, taking fourth on Heartstring, Helen and Mark Wells and Georgia Reynolds’ home-bred Cicero Van Paemel/Heartbreaker six-year-old.  They were 4.72 sec behind the pace.  Jessica Mendoza opted for steady and accurate in this speed class for 20th place on Jonker Van Sombeke and Joe Clee also went for a schooling clear round with Kafka VD Heffinck.

And Jamie was again in the money in the mammoth, 95-strong 2* 1.35m, taking seventh on Helen and Stephen Stamper’s Grandeur eight-year-old Grupello Z, two and a half sec behind the winner, Germany’s Philip Houston on Casaltina.  Millie Allen and Balou Star also came home penalty-free for 11th and Joe Clee (Cotill) and William Whitaker (Diabless De Muze) also returned steady double clears.  British-based Irishman Dave Quigley was the slowest double clear on Cadans Z and Stacey Babes posted just one time fault in the second phase with Cazador LS.

Joe took fourth in the 1.45m with the eight-year-old Isolde Van De Heffinck (Contact Van De Heffinck/Orlando), finishing four and a half sec behind the winner in a strong, hotly competitive speed class.  Jessica Mendoza and Wan Architect and Leonie Aitkenhead aboard Clane K both jumped for faults.

Millie Allen dropped into sixth place in the 84-strong 1.30m on Newton Tigra, an Atlantic/Indoctro eight-year-old, finishing 2.40 sec behind the winner, the Netherlands’ Jack Ansems on Delia B.  Paul Bevan with the Vittorio/Voltaire nine-year-old Coco Vittorio and William Whitaker on the Zurich seven-year-old Junior Van Het Hulst jumped steadier clears to finish down the line in 26th and 27th places.  Jamie Wingrove (Ephonie P) and Ashlee Harris (Zahra II) posted four faults each.
