Guy Williams is just a fraction away from winning in Rouen

Guy Williams slotted his 14-year-old seasoned campaigner Casper De Muze into second in the 3* 1.35m speed on day one at Rouen, France.  They were just a fraction of a second behind the winner, France’s Olivier Guillon and Borona, finishing 0.03 sec in arrears. 

Nicole Pavitt took fifth on the Douglas/Andiamo eight-year-old Doucardi with Jemma Kirk seventh on the 10-year-old Carbani.  James Smith claimed 12th on Bolton Gate Ben and Tim Stockdale returned on one time faults with Tornado Des Monts to finish down the line.  Jumping schooling rounds, Robert Bevis (Courtney Z) and Jemma aboard second ride Quelisto both picked up two time faults apiece and Robert Smith (Cimano E) and Nicole Shahenaz returned on three.

In the 1.15m speed, Victoria Hewson claimed seventh on the 14-year-old Sparco, almost four sec bwhind the winner.  Olivia Howe and Corsiro Z also jumped clear for 17th place.
