November 13, 2016

On Saturday on Oliva Nova’s Autumn MET tour, Abbe Elliott (nee Burchmore Eames) landed the Gold 1.30m Hit and Hurry on Casti Aneira, a Lupicor nine-year-old.  They were the only partnership to score maximum points to take the class.  Alison Barton and Billy Anna claimed 11th place.

Brits filled five of the top six places in a very competitive Bronze 1.30m accumulator.  Olivia Gent on the Wonder Boy/Carnaval Drum eight-year-old Carnavals Wonder topped the class by the slender margin of 0.05 sec from Romilly Simmons on another eight-year-old, the Clover Echo-sired Annaghmore Dolce.  Ashley Ray slotted Care For into third ahead of Kayleigh Watts on Kondy in fourth and Theo Simpson with Alvin Only in sixth.   Lily Standbridge was 10th on Touch of Pleasure with Victoria Bennett 13th on Raphoe Ella, Gemma Wright in 14th aboard Ulrike Van Oberis Z and Abbie Newbery on Frasier in 17th – all posting maximum scores.

Dom Webb headed the Silver 1.30m speed on Archie, a Berlin/Topas 11-year-old, winning by 1.16 sec from fellow Brit Alice Watson on the Baloubet Du Rouet/Pilot seven-year-old E-Pilotta. Ireland filled the next two places, Damien Dixon taking third on Cadence Du Roset CH from British-based Roger McCrea in fourth on Tulipe De Baudiere. Ben Raistrick guided Mourinho into fifth with Louise Whitaker in seventh on Abeer II OL and Abbe Elliott 11th on Javas KP. Taisie de Gruchy (Hoodshill First Look) and Ashley Ray (Quite A Flower) both returned four faults for 18th and 19th places.

Louise Whitaker also claimed fifth in the Silver 1.40m on the Cero/Kannan mare Udget Du Rozel, 2.85 sec behind the winner.  Jess Dimmock was close on their heels for sixth with a steadier double clear on Billy Anderson and Dom Webb jumped into 13th with Alvatore.

Jess also claimed fourth on the eight-year-old Billy Tortilla in the Gold 1.40m, more than five sec in arrears from the winning slot. One time fault prevented Heather Larson from contending the 15-stron gjump-off and she took 17th on Townhead Imagine De Muze, and Abbe Elliott’s four faults with Wilandri E dropped her to 21st.

Joe Veitch headed into second place on Sweet Shutterfly, a Sir Shutterfly nine-year-old, in the Bronze 1.25m, finishing 0.75 sec behind the pace.  Will Edwards took sixth on the promising Chacco Blue/Heartbreaker mare SHW Candies B, just ahead of Kayleigh Watts in seventh on Colton Playtime.  Madeleine Kellett on Cornelia finished in 12th place with a steady double clear.

In the Gold 1.35m, Ben Bick eased the Holsteiner seven-year-old Rumers Cascari into fifth spot, crossing the line 1.65 sec behind the winner.  Also jumping double clear was Abbe Elliott on Booming Blue Z for eighth and David McPherson, 15th with Belle Fleur 38.

Anja Jackson finished in eighth place on Liberty 348 in the Bronze 1.40m speed, with Joanne Whitaker taking 12th aboard Contendro Star. In the 1.15m, Madeleine Kellett eased Smokey Malone into fifth with Romilly Simmons seventh on Ferani Paulowna.
