Ellen Whitaker takes a commanding victory in Oliva Nova

Ellen Whitaker commandingly claimed victory in the Autumn MET tour’s Gold 1.35m speed by an incredible 11 seconds on the eight-year-old Zacharov/Hairos daughter Fleur. The pair left allcomers trailing in their wake in the 45-horse class. Chloe Aston posted the fastest time of the class on Amigo T, but a rail down dropped them to eighth. Louise Simpson also returned four faults on Double Deuce Retto for ninth.

Chloe claimed second in the Gold 1.40m with the Catoki nine-year-old Chico, beaten by Ireland’s David Simpson on the 10-year-old Starfighter by 1.52 sec. Louise took fourth on Grafit with Abbe Elliott and Wilandri E just behind in fifth. Katie Gygax finished ninth on on Halloween Sitte and Alice Watson was 10th on KEC Havana.

And Ellen’s partner, Spain’s Antonio Marinas Soto, slotted his seasoned campaigner, the German-bred 14-year-old Cash And Go, into third in the top-billed Gold 1.45m. They were 0.84 sec behind the winner, Belgium’s Constant van Paesschen on Astro Boy in the 82-horse class.

Chloe eased Kolibri Classic into fourth, just ahead of Louise Whitaker and Ruby VIII in fifth place. Alice Watson claimed eighth on The Precious One and John Whitaker slotted Leen OL into ninth. Graham Gillespie jumped for clear and four to take 16th on Celine with Louise Simpson in 17th on Fiona VH Lemmenshof.

Kayleigh Watts claimed victory in the Bronze 1* 1.25m with the seven-year-old Fashion V, winning by almost two and a half sec. Kayleigh also finished seventh on second ride Colton Playtime while Joe Veitch was fourth on Art Candy and sixth with Sweet Shutterfly.

Ashley Ray jumped into second in the Bronze 1.15m with the Warrant/Air Jordan Z seven-year-old Exclusive VI, four and half sec behind the winner. Madeleine Kellett and Smokey Malone took fourth.

Richard Jenkinson guided the 11-year-old Adorette W into fifth in the Bronze 1.40m almost five sec behind the pace.

And Richard also featured in the Bronze 1.30m, taking third with Culto. Will Edwards skilfully guided the Chacco Blue/Heartbreaker six-year-old SHW Candies B into victory here, winning with more than two sec in hand. Jessica Crosby claimed fourth on Kings Hill Cavalier and Ashley Ray took sixth on Care For. Kayleigh Watts and Kondy took eighth, Olivia Gent rode Carnavals Wonder into 10th and Richard took 11th with second ride Cobalt II. Victoria Bennett was 14th aboard Raphoe Ella, Gemma Wright claimed 16th on Ulrike Van Overis Z and Charlotte Alpin was also clear on Carentia K for 19th.

Ireland’s Roger McCrea, riding for Oakingham Stud, headed the Silver 1.25m accumulator with the nine-year-old mare Tulipe De Baudiere, taking the win by 0.31 sec. Katie Gygax also posted a maximum score on Vigo Mail for seventh.

Alice Watson was second in the Silver 1.35m speed on new ride In The Mood Van Het Kriekenhof, a Winning Mood/Lys De Darmen eight-year-old, finishing just 0.22 sec in arrears. Louise Whitaker took third on the Berlin/Cassini I seven-year-old Abeer II OL and Abbe Elliott was fifth on Contender B. Jess Dimmock finished 10th on Billy Anderson with Maja Burnell 13th aboard Carnaval Komombo and Ben Raistrick took 16th on Mourinho – all jumping clear.
