Louise Whitaker and Louise Simpson lead the way in Oliva Nova

Louise Whitaker and Team Harmony’s 10-year-old Kannan daughter Cleopatra took second in the Gold 1.40m speed, finishing 3.73 sec behind the winner.  Jess Dimmock eased Billy Tortilla into fifth, just in front of Chad Fellows with Beat Me in sixth in the 76-strong class.  Spain's Antonio Marinas Soto also jumped clear for 17th on Diamondloma., a Numero Uno/Animo eight-year-old.

Richard Barton jumped into fifth place in the 81-strong 1.45m speed on Gaye Hartley’s Ukato eight-year-old Donata, five sec behind the winner.  James Davenport took seventh on Tiger with Jess Dimmock hot on their heels in eighth with Cybel II.  The final fence falling marred Louise Simpson’s round on Fiona VH Lemmenshof and they dropped to 11th and Graham Gillespie finished 13th on Celine.  Spencer Roe also lowered a rail on Wonder Why for 16th.

Louise Simpson made no mistakes in the hotly-contended seven-year-old final, storming to victory on the Ars Vivendi gelding Hello Vivendi to win by 0.04 sec.  Four faults in the jump-off dropped James Wilson’s Eskola M to 14th and Eloise Guy to 17th on Obora’s Gravity.  David Simpson and California 19 took 18th.

Louise almost made it a double, but was prevented a second win on the Kroongraaf-sired CSF Eye Wonder by 0.58 sec, fellow Brit Will Edwards claiming the five-year-old on the Zambesi gelding Tinkas Brook II. 

Brits commandeered the top seven places here. Spencer Roe took third on Gambler B (Campbell VDL/Arkansas) and fifth with Gusto (Baltic VDL/Corland), sandwiching Remy Ellis and the Mylord Carthago gelding Good Friends into fourth. Taisie de Gruchy took sixth on Live The Life, just ahead of Jess Dimmock and Billy Fleance.  

Spain’s Antonio Marinas Soto took eighth with Morningdamn and Tom Hollins claimed 11 th and 13 th with Tavera and Finnisk Castor and Shane Reilly finished 12 th on Belga Du Thot took 12 th – all jumping double clear. Jessica Crosby posted a quick four faults in the second round for 14th with Harvey.    

Abbe Elliott (nee Burchmore Eames) claimed victory in the Gold 1.30m on the Lupicor nine-year-old Casti Aneira, winning by 2.06 sec. Taisie de Gruchy took third on the nine-year-old Winner of Picobello Z almost two and half sec in arrears. Alison Barton finished fifth on Billy Anna with Ben Raistrick in 11th aboard Benevita and Katie Gygax 16th on Halloween Sitte.

Ben topped the Silver 1.25m on the Calvados/Wolfgang 16-year-old Top Limit, winning by 1.75 sec over fellow Brit Dom Webb and the Berlin 11-year-old Archie.  Abbe and Javas KP took seventh with Katie in ninth on Vigo Mail.

In the Silver 1.35m Louise Whitaker and the Cero/Kannan eight-year-old Udget Du Rozel took equal fourth with Ireland’s Damien Dixon on Elvis P after dead-heating on time.  Jess Dimmock claimed sixth with Billy Anderson.

Louise slotted Brendon Stud’s home-bred Warrior/Caretino Glory mare Special Warrior into fourth in the six-year-old, just over two sec behind the winner. Roger McCrea took 10th with a double clear on Oakingham Stud’s Cornet Obolensky/Cardento stallion Flugel M. Bunched together in 13th to 15th on clear and four was Graham Gillespie’s First Colt, Shane O’Reilly on Connor VIII and Mackenzie Ray with Fashion ES.
