Helen Tredwell is on winning form at Addington
Helen Tredwell picked up a nice £1,000 at her local show, winning the 1.40m in fine style on day two at Addington Manor’s premier with her home-bred Larksong. They have been on form of late, the Vangelis S/Larino 11-year-old picking up places at HOYS and winning £2,500 at a recent Bury Farm show.
Here they outpaced allcomers, pushing Mennell Watson on Helen van Heyningen’s home-bred stallion Whisper In The Wind, a Cobretti/Mr Majestic eight-year-old, into second. Tim Stockdale eased Colin Garrett’s Tornado Des Monts into third with Jamie Wingrove on Bart IV fourth and David Murdoch’s Senor D fifth.
David topped the 1.30m on Raphaela Von Berkenbroeck, the 11-year-old Stedinger/Raphael mare he has ridden for 18 months. Winners the previous day in the B and C, Drek McCoppin had to settle for second place on this occasion with Whiterock Lucky Lady. Beth Vernon eased Omane Des Faux into third with Sally Hopkinson’s Cartouche II fourth, Rose Moss on Weston fifth and Gemma Ellison taking sixth riding Rambler VDL.
Lauren Edwards posted a handsome victory double with winter grade C and Foxhunter/grade C wins. Andrew Doswell’s Zirocco Blue VDL/Emilion seven-year-old Ella Sandra G came to the fore in the winter grade C qualifier, expertly guided into the top spot by Lauren.
The top four in this class gained qualification to the new London International Spring show at the Excel arena at Easter next year, and joining Lauren in the final are Claudia Rees in second on the nine-year-old Renkum Knopfler, Graham Lovegrove aboard the seven-year-old Cicero daughter Jakarta Van De Roshoeve in third and fourth-placed Alfie Bradstock with the eight-year-old Tiger Bright.
Jake Saywell just missed out in fifth with the impressive stallion Quimari W and Alfie took sixth on second ride Dumolga.
Lauren’s second win came in the Foxhunter/grade C with Kevin Cooper’s home-bred Carnaval Cocktail, a Kannan/Carnaval Drum nine-year-old mare. Chris Smith jumped into second on the previous day’s winner Elmo Hill and Poppy Stronge aboard Cheek took third. Claire Robertson claimed fourth on Ezariosa Z with Portia Howard and Rinroe Supreme fifth and Charlene Bastone aboard Fyberlinus H in sixth.
And Lauren almost made it three. The Kannan/Gradilot five-year-old Kesara 22 slotted into second for Lauren in the newcomers, just behind winner Tom Whitaker aboard the six-year-old mare Creevagh Tompico. Sammie Coffin claimed third on Catch The Pigeon with Abbie Walters fourth on Loughnatousa Napoleon, Dan Delsart fifth riding Drumin Jacko and Helen Tredwell on Calcourt Fidibus in sixth.
