Tahnia Jordan-Jones takes a win on day one at South View

Tahnia Jordan-Jones galloped into the top spot of the 1.20m on day one of the hugely popular English Home Pony International at South View. She teamed up with the 12-year-old Sulan Hollywood Knight to claim victory over Xander Stormonth, in second on the 18-year-old Chivaz.

Sophie Bowen-Howard netted third with Quincy V, beating Fraser Reed into fourth aboard Jiminy Cricket. Fraser also claimed eight aboard Kilcloghan DG Clover. Drew Walton took fifth on Trevoulter Ladies Man, Vicki Selby eased Bay Friend into sixth and Allana Clutterbuck claimed seventh on Sultan Du Bary.

Nicole Lockhead Anderson claimed first and third in the 1.15m Open with Pochantas, an Irish eight-year-old coloured mare she ahs ridden since August, and the nine-year-old mare Little Red Cloud. She relegated Lauren Roach on her nine-year-old Hickstead JC champion Westcoast Express. Imogen Marmont slotted Danubertha into fourth with Sandy McLean on Red Flamenco in fifth and Ffion Roberts sixth with her HOYS newcomer and Foxhunter finalist Kantjes Bozzy.

Max Wachman topped the 1.15m performance qualifier aboard Diamond Diamond, pushing Courtney Young into second on Fostymana VH Trichelhof. Katie Clarke eased Baussy Jones into third ahead of fourth-placed Jocasta Symons and Razorlite. John Ellis was fifth with Charlie XIII and Sean Foley claimed sixth on Tynagh Lady.

Robert Murphy posted a win the 1.10m on new ride Makita, with Faye Sutton and Our Dun in second. Oli Fletcher slotted new ride Zodianne Van De Doevenbree – formerly ridden at top level by Jack Whitaker – into third and Alice Wilson claimed fourth on Blackstown Spot On. Bowen McCrory took fifth with Tip Top Sand and Molly Bennett aboard Mr Bojangles III rode into sixth place.

Robyn Moran headed the 128/138cm handicap on the Irish-bred nine-year-old 138cm palomino Western Oreo despite Yiayan Evans launching two serious challenges with Dandy and Glenvar Sparky, Yiayan having to settle for second and third. Max Wachman claimed fourth aboard Youghal Paddy with Izzi Ryder and The Agent in fifth and Tom Wachman sixth and seventh on Murphy Spartacus and Little Jack Spratt.

Sofia Coope landed the 1m open aboard the 12-year-old Rockfield Smokey Leo, outpacing Amy Barrett – in second on the 11-year-old Irish mare Disney Way. Cleo Loizzo took third on High Flyer with Charlie Rogan fourth aboard Ag Dynamo, Elizabeth Baker fifth on Latinka TJ Van Overis, Lauren Roach claimed sixth on Renkum Starlight and Freya Barry seventh riding Brynnebo Victoria.

Billy Luther triumphed in the 90cm open on the 13-year-old gelding Creme De La Creme, galloping ahead of second-placed Megan Trott on the 12-year-old gelding Annandale Moonfleet. Holly Rowsell and the 12-year-old grey mare Itzy Bitzy III took third with Freya in fourth on Brynnebo Victoria with Jake Myers in equal fifth aboard What A Legend with Jessica Howard on Ryehill Joseph.
