Nicole Pavitt scores in St Lo
Nicole Pavitt landed the six-bar in St Lo, France, on Old Lodge’s Chellano Z 11-year-old Shahenaz. The pair cleared an impressive 2.10m to win the class. And Nicole soon spent the prize-money! Looking to the future, she bought a foal, sired by the full brother to Tia Semilly.
Guy Williams and the 16-year-old Titus were just a fraction of a second away from winning the 3* 1.40m speed and had to settle for second spot. A mammoth 86 competitors contended the class, with Guy just 0.17 sec behind the winner, France’s Marc Dilasser on Air Corrado VO. Joe Clayton and the nine-year-old Cayo Z incurred three faults to drop down to 23rd.
Joe was best Brit in the 1.50m grand prix on the nine-year-old Con Man JX. The pair, denied a jump-off chance in the 10-strong decider after picking up one time fault in round one, had to settle for 11th spot. Nicole stepped the Cornet Obolensky 10-year-old Areeb OL up to theis level and jumped a great round, just hitting the second last fence for four faults in round one to drop out of contention, and William Whitaker finished just behind them on five faults with Fento Chin Z.
