Jessica Mendoza wins in Vilamoura

October 7, 2016

Jessica Mendoza topped the 50-strong 1.40m speed by a slender 0.06 sec on the 15-year-old Ramiro De Belle Vue.  Well known speed merchant, Ireland’s Darragh Kenny, failed to catch her and had to settle for second on G Andiamo Rodeberg.

Philip Spivey jumped a steadier clear on Greg and Tracey Forrest’s home-bred Diamant De Semilly eight-year-old Darya I Nur for 11th with Harriet Nuttall on the eight-year-old Dulf in 12th.

Jessica also picked up fourth in the 1.45m with Toy Boy, finishing 1.56 behind the pace.  Four in the second phase dropped Ben Maher and Cliff 67 down the line to 19th.

And the Toulon seven-year-old Jonker Van Sombeke slotted into seventh in the 1.35m for Jessica, 5.68 sec behind the winner.

Jodie Caudle claimed third in the 1.10m on Blue Skyliner, seven sec behind the winner.
