Trevor Breen is victorious in Bonheiden

British-based Irishman Trevor Breen took third in the In Showjumpers 1.40m with the 12-year-old stallion Oldtown KC. They finished 1.58 sec behind the winner, Switzerland’s Adrian Schmidon Lou 66. Ireland’s Ross Mullholland claimed second with Aramis 573.

Adam Botham was best Brit in fourth on the Quasimodo eight-year-old Demograaf, three quarters of a sec behind Trevor. Danielle Farnsworth took eighth on Claddagh Iroko with a steady clear and Laura Mantel post a quick four faults with Glory B V to drop into 18th place.

Adam also finished fourth in the six-year-old 1.25m on Fatero, jumping a nice double clear to be 1.58 sec behind the winner. Liz Forrester slotted Furst Bismark right behind in fifth with Charlotte Barry sixth on Cludo and Donna Callaghan took eighth aboard Freek VT Scharenborg – all jumping double clear. Laura Mantel was fastest clear and four with Funnycan, dropping from a potential victory to 10th and Danielle Farnsworth took 11th on Firestone.

Brits took the top two in the 1.20m. Jessica Botham posted victory on the 10-year-old mare Utah’s Utopia, beating Kathryn Ellison with Hanleen Sultis by 0.56 sec. Laura Mantel and Esgracia dropped to 19th with four faults and Donna Callaghan with Chacco Brown took 25th.

It was a four-faultitus day for Laura Mantel. Four faults in the five-year-old pushed her and NPS Erleena down to 14th place. Katinka Brogaard claimed 16th on Galveston G and Danielle Hughes took 21st with Garfield. John Steels was 22nd on Geronimo PC Z and 25th with Lacoste Van Ten Bosch.

One time fault kept William Whitaker from contending the 10-strong jump-off of the small 1.45m grand prix with Neil Fiddes’ Dublin V. A total of seven posted one time fault in the first round, William taking 17th. Four faults for Trevor Breen and Bombay dropped them to 20th and Bumble Thomas on Ciandro returned on five faults.

Julie Whibley netted third in the 1.10m with the consistent Harlequin Joe, 2.34 sec behind the pace. Charlotte Lee and Hillviewfarm Fergus took eighth and Danielle Farnsworth on Pequena Beech was just behind for ninth.
