Harriet Nuttall and Ben Maher keep up the winning form in Vilamoura
Harriet Nuttall topped Vilamoura’s 1.35m with Highland Cruiser, the Cougar/Flagmount Diamond 15-year-old showing a fleet turn of foot to take the win by a slender 0.05 sec. Philip Spivey was 14th on Virginia 188 with four faults in round one.
Ben Maher headed the 2* 1.40m speed with the Calvaro 10-year-old Sarena, winning by an impressive 1.35 sec. Harriet Nuttall took 15th on Dulf, just ahead of Ben on second ride Cliff 67.
Ben was denied another win in the 1.45m by 0.81 sec, Aristo Z finishing second to Mexico’s Santiago Lambre on Fortin. Harriet took sixth with Galway Bay Jed with Ben in seventh on Thalis De La Roque and Philip Spivey ninth aboard Darya I Nur – all jumping double clear in the 15-strong jump-off.
Heather Stennett claimed 12th in the 2* 1.20m speed on the Armitage/Heartbreaker nine-year-old Hicksteadt AEG, and Sarah Krisanda took 13th in the 1.10m on Debbie.
