Rowan Willis takes a one-two at Moreton-in-Marsh annual show

Rowan Willis netted the top two in the Talbot Ponsonby challenge 1.30m at Moreton-in-Marsh annual show, Gloucestershire. The Chacco Blue 10-year-old Blue Movie – out of the Pilot mare Showtime, a former International ride of Nick Skelton – took the honours for Rowan with Shark II – by Arko and also out of Showtime – a close second.

Angie Thompson on the Zento/Carthago Z eight-year-old Diploma B claimed third with Andy Austin on June in fourth. Sarah Hedges took fifth with Nicki Sharp’s Breaker N and Derek Morton was sixth on Double Dutch CKV.

Angie and Diploma B also featured in the two-fence challenge – where the fences increased in height and width as the rounds progressed and reached in excess of 1.50m high and 1.80m wide. Angie jumped clear every round to share first equally with Keith Doyle and the Quality/No Limit seven-year-old Elmo Brown.

Three shared third – Sarah and Breaker N, Derek Morton with Beech Leys and Carolyn Bowman on Dikarla Blue.

Hilary Hool and the 11-year-old Randi daughter Florandi topped the Foxhunter/1.20m to claim the Bobwell Farm challenge trophy and claimed sixth spot aboard Barnadown. Alexandra Somerville-Cotton took second on the seven-year-old Summer Promise and fifth on the six-year-old NPS Dangerous with with Aline Domaingo in third on Falou and Brad Hooker with Irn Bru in fourth.

Georgina Johns-Powell headed the 1.10m to take the Holmans Estate Agents challenge cup on the Solitair/Wellington 11-year-old Anniki, relegating Emily Seals into second on the six-year-old mare Willows Wisp. Stephanie Hunter and Never Forget took third with Andy Austin fourth on Denver and Mandy Dexter in fifth with Beckham.

Bryan Smith took the 1m open on the eight-year-old Ronnies Echo, beating Mandy and the 15-year-old Beckham into second. Bryony Butler took third on India’s Touch with Clare Valender fourth on Moritz and Tasha Seely aboard Alpino R in fifth.
