Michael Whitaker is a close second in the Longines Grand Prix of St Moritz

Michael Whitaker was just 0.79 sec away from winning the Longines 1.60m Grand Prix of St Moritz with the 14-year-old Viking. 

Ten of 45 reached the jump-off, but Michael couldn’t catch the speedy American pairing of Kent Farrington on Creedance.  Four faults in the jump-off dropped Robert Whitaker and Catwalk to sixth.  Scott Brash and Ursula XII had four faults and Ben Maher aboard Boomerang finished on eight.

John Whitaker took ninth with Argento in the 5* 1.50m with four faults in the jump-off.  Scott slotted Hello Guv’Nor just behind into 10th, again on clear and four.

In the 1.45m speed, John and Old Lodge’s Lord of Arabia took fourth, 0.74 sec behind the pace.  Scott and Hello M’Lady came home on one fault.   

Jack Whitaker and Native De Vesquerie finished 11th in the 2* 1.35m with Katie Gygax just behind in 12 th on Believe In Me.  On clear and four in the 18-strong jump-off, Katie took 13th in the 2* 1.45m small grand prix with the Diamant De Semilly nine-year-old Halloween Sitte.
