Michael Whitaker is best Brit in St Moritz
Michael Whitaker was best Brit in the 1.55m at St Moritz, taking sixth on the Locarno 10-year-old mare JB’s Hot Stuff, almost five sec behind the winner.
Robert Whitaker and Catwalk were denied a jump-off chance by one time fault in round one. Ben Maher and Boomerang had four faults and Scott Brash posted six faults with Ursula XII.
John Whitaker jumped an easy double clear on Argento to take 13th on Argento in the 5* 1.45m, won by Ireland’s Bertram Allen on Izzy By Picobello. Ben Maher and Diva had four faults in round one.
Fresh from his pony European individual gold medal on Elando, Jack Whitaker switched to horses and took second in the 2* 1.30m accumulator with joker on Native De Vesquerie. The Papillon Roughe 15-year-old mare finished on a maximum score 1.55 sec behind the winner. Katie Gygax also scored maximum points but in a steadier time for 17th on Believe In Me. And Katie also picked up 13th in the 2* 1.40m on Halloween Sitte.
