Tim Stockdale is so close for second in the 1.60m class in Gijon

Tim Stockdale was just one and a half sec away from winning the 5* 1.60m world ranking class in Gijon on the Tangelo Van De Zuuthoeve/Alcatraz 11-year-old Fleur De L’Aube.

Only six of the 59 starters produced clears to access the jump-off, won By Egypt’s Abdel Said on Hope Van Scherpen Donder. One time fault denied Robert Smith to contend the second round on Bavi, and he took eighth. Sam Hutton and Happydam returned five faults.

Joe Whitaker pushed the nine-year-old mare Lavarno into seventh in the 1.40m 1.69 sec behind the winner. Robert Bevis was also double clear for 13th spot on Pebbles with Tim 15th on Tornado Des Monts.
