Scott Brash wins in St Moritz

Scott Brash got St Moritz 5* off to a great start with victory in the 1.50m speed on Hello Guv’Nor, a Diamant De semilly/Papillon Rouge 11-year-old.

They won with a quarter of a sec in hand to bag the top prize.Michael Whitaker eased JB’s Hot Property, a Cheers Cassini 11-year-old, into 10th with a steadier clear.

Ben Maher and Boomerang returned four faults and John Whitaker finished on six faults on Argento.

Michael netted seventh on the Locarno 10-year-old JB’s Hot Stuff in the 5* 1.45m, more than four sec behind the pace. Ben and Diva also jumped a steady double clear. Scott gave Ursula a run out for one time fault.

In the 5* 1.40m, Michael (Viking) and Scott (Hello M’Lady) gave their horses a look-see on day one to take 23rd and 24th with a couple of time faults apiece.

Katie Gygax and the Diamant De Semilly nine-year-old Halloween Sitte took 13th in the 2* 1.40m speed.
