Robert Smith is in the money in Macon Chaintre

In Sunday’s 3* 1.40m at Macon Chaintre, France, Robert Smith slotted the Unaniem nine-year-old Cimano E into fourth 0.64 sec behind the pace. Yazmin Pinchen and Con Chilli were hot on their heels in fifth.

Four faults in round one of the 1.55m grand prix dropped Robert and Bavi to 14th. France’s Romain Potin won with Impressario VDH.

Harriet Nuttall was best Brit in the 3* 1.45m with the Romanov eight-year-old Galway Bay Jed with ninth in the 15-horse jump-off. Robert also jumped a double clear on the eight-year-oldf Dulf Van Den Bisschop stallion Ilton for 10th.

Yazmin took eighth on Bandito in the 3* 1.35m, 2.25 sec behind the winner. Anna Power on Bon Jovi finished just a fraction behind for ninth.

Anna claimed sixth in the young horse 1.40m with Tahiclaud, a Kashmir Van Schuttershof seven-year-old stallion.

Four faults dropped Jane Davies to 12th on Eclips Van Erpekom in the 1.35m speed. Nancy Pinchen took 12th in the amateur 1.20m on Zodiac Z.
