Louise Whitaker and Ruby hit the top spot

They have been knocking on the door of late, and Louise Whitaker finally claimed the win she deserves on Di Lampard’s home-bred Balou Du Rouet mare Ruby VIII, taking the 2* 1.40m speed by a second at Le Touquet, France.

David McPherson pushed Sirocco into 10th with Sian Edwards in 14th on Adriarna. Callum Tusler took 18th on Convinced I Am and Jess Dimmock was 19th with Cybel II.

Dan Moseley and Richard Hooper’s Whitesnake sired Escapado S headed the seven-year-old in fine style, winning by a handsome 5.75 sec.

Brits were bunched together taking four of the top six places in the 2* 1.35m. Alex Hempleman was best Brit in third on Billy Dinero, 5.85 sec in arrears, Louise was fourth with Team Harmony’s Udget Du Rozel, Danielle Farnsworth netted fifth aboard Cornascriebe Ferro and Jess Dimmock on Billy Tortilla took sixth.

Jane Annett eased the Hermes De Reve mare Sligo Hermes Touch in to second in the 1* 1.20m, 0.61 sec in arrears. Clare Reynolds was fifth on Caramel Wijngaardhoeve Z with Joanne Whitaker and Mill River 14th.

In the amateur 1.20m, Polly Shaw and Golden Grove AIT A finished eighth with Lucy Wood and Duc De Lyon in 17th.
