Guy Williams is just a fraction away from winning the 3* Masters in Flanders

August 5, 2016

In Flanders 3*, Beervelde, Belgium, Guy Williams was a fraction off the pace in Thursday’s 3* 1.50m Masters for second with Depardieu Van T Kiezelhof, finishing 0.48 sec behind winner, Belgium's Thierry Goffinet on Artuur JH Z.  But it was winner takes all.  Horse jumped fantastic, but not such a good day at the office.

Guy also claimed eighth on Carlson in the 1.40m accumulator with joker, two and a half sec behind the pace.

Louise Pavitt and the Nonstop 11-year-old Fiona VH Lemmenshof took third in Friday’s 3* 1.50m, 2.10 sec behind the pace.  Louise’s partner, Ireland’s David Simpson, took seventh on his Hickstead Queen Elizabeth Cup winner Chessy 17.

Louise and the Ars Vivendi sired Hello Vivendi jumped double clear for eighth in the seven-year-old.   And a steady double clear for Louise and Unex Chamberlain Z took 18th in the 3* 1.30m.

David – fifth on Thursday – finished eighth in Friday’s 3* 1.30m on the nine-year-old Curly Sue 163, and Ireland’s Roger McCrea – 10th on Thursday – took 14th in the 2* 1.30m on Witro.

Ashley Ray and Care For took third in the 1.20m accumulator with joker, 2.72 sec behind the pace.

William Whitaker jumped a nice double clear on the Cassius/Heartbreaker stallion Diesel GP Du Bois Madame for 15th in the seven-year-old.  Guy and Cornado Jnr posted clear and four.
