Laura Renwick is sixth in the world ranking class on day one in Valkenswaard

On day one at the Global Champions tour of Valkenswaard, Laura Renwick finished sixth on Utrillo De Breve, a selle Francais eight-year-old by Lauxley De Breve, in the 2* world ranking 1.45m speed. They finished 4.64 sec behind the winner, the USA’s Jessica Springsteen on Davendy S.

Helen Tredwell was just 0.12 sec behind Laura for seventh with the 11-year-old home-bred mare Larksong, and Sam Hutton claimed 10th on the Kashmir Van Schuttershof eight-year-old Iloica V Bisschop.

Tim Wilks topped the six/seven-year-old 1* young horse speed on Kay, a six-year-old by Echo Van Het Neerenbosch, winning by 0.57 sec. Laura took fifth with the Newton De Kreisker/Heartbreaker six-year-old Alothain De Blondel.

Scott Brash jumped a steady clear on Hello Mr President to take 18th. Anna Wilks on Knockout Van T Paradijs, Helen with Rumbolds Starlight ans Mark Armstrong’s Favorito all had four faults.

Tim took 10th in the 2* 1.40m on the Diamant De Semilly eight-year-old Une De Pretemps with a double clear, and Helen jumped a lovely double clear on Simon Davies’ Cheers Cassini/Kigali eight-year-old Flawless to take 25th.
