Jay Buxton is best Brit in the Grand Prix in Poland


Jay Buxton and Strides Hilanasterne claimed third in a strong 1.60m Gold Grand Prix at Jakubowice, Wilkow, Poland. Nine contended the jump-off, with Jay and the Montender nine-year-old mare posting a double clear to finish 5.36 sec behind the winner, Germany’s Andrea Brenner on Cronos 17.

Jamie jumped a super jumping clear on Cardigan Z, but one annoying time faults prevented their jump-off participation and they took 10th.

They’d been working up to it with a second and a third, Jamie Wingrove and the speedy Zilfa Heleen landed the win they deserved in the medium 1* 1.35m final. The feisty Nobility/No Limit mare came up with every answer to secure the top spot by an impressive two sec. Olivia Skinner and Cinderella IV took 14th. Jamie and second ride Ephonie P had four faults.

Jamie and Truman 9 jumped the Silver speed final for four faults and 17th, and Jamie on The Drawness lost four points in the Bronze accumulator for 23rd.
