Shane Breen takes a win in Falsterbo

In Falsterbo, Ireland’s Shane Breen headed the Rusten Equestrian Trophy 1.45m speed aboard the Irco Mena/Tinkas Boy 10-year-old Market Irminka, bred in Britain by Derek Ricketts and previously ridden by Tracy Priest. They won by an impressive 2.17 sec from Belgium’s Francois Mathy Jr on Polinska Des Isles. Fellow Irishman Billy Twomey took sixth with the Cabri D’Elle 10-year-old Lizziemary.

Emma O’Dwyer finished 18th with a steady clear on Echo De Laubry and Joe Clayton and Cally V had four faults.

Only two clears were produced in the Falsterbo Derby and both finished on four faults in the jump-off. Czech’s Ales Opatrny on Acovaro had the edge by 2.56 sec over Ireland’s Shane Sweetnam and Cyklon.

Ireland featured strongly. Darragh Kenny was fourth on Zahra II, Billy Twomey took fifth on Diaghilev and Shane aboard Acoustik Solo Du Baloubet claimed seventh – all on a round one four faults. Tim Stockdale and Erasmus Van De Heffinck came home on 15 faults.

Joe Clayton took fifth on Lexie III in the Horseware seven-year-old, 4.62 sec behind the winner.
