Joe Whitaker is the proud owner of a brand new Mercedes car after topping the 3* world ranking 1.50m on the 11-year-old Locarno daughter Lola V. The win, beating Netherlands’ Robert Vos on Carat into second by 0.19 sec in the 15-strong jump-off, also qualifies them for the grand prix.
William Funnell and Billy Congo had a round one four faults, and James Billington posted five faults on VDL Cartello.
William took equal 11th on Billy Angelo in the 3* 1.45m, jumping a round one clear but electing not to go forward in the jump-off. James Billington was 16th on Baltic VDL with one time fault.
Spencer Roe was seventh on the Chacco-Blue stallion Chaccomo Agostini in the 2* 1.40m, qualifying for the 2* grand prix. They were four sec behind the winner, Ireland’s Michael G Duffy with Felix XXVIII.
James finished fifth in the 1* 1.35m with the Mr Blue/Chin Chin nine-year-old mare Celena VDL, 1.87 sec behind the pace.
