Gillian Anderson heads the Silver league and Leona Urquhart wins the Bronze at Muirmill

Gillian Anderson outpaced all her rivals to take the Silver League qualifier at Muirmill EC with Congeniality B.

The first three qualify for the Silver semi-final – the next step towards HOYS – and 39 riders contended the first round, with 16 accessing the jump-off. The winner wasn’t found until the penultimate draw, Gillian commandeering the top spot by an impressive 2.51 sec with Congeniality, a Quinar/Carthago Z nine-year-old mare she has competed for four years.

Alexandra Moorhouse eased into second on Hamilton H, a 12-year-old she has competed for four months. Leona Urquhart took third on Extreem Van De Neerheide, a 12-year-old mare with Lancaster V/Chamberlain bloodlines.

Leona enjoyed a great weekend. She also headed the Horseware Bronze league qualifier on Conga Van De Neerheide.

It was no mean feat. From a start-list of 52, 25 jumped clear to make for a red-hot jump-off, and again the penultimate draw took the top spot. Leonie took the win by 0.32 sec on Conga, an eght-year-old mare she started in British novice two years ago.

Laura Templeton made use of the established eight year partnership she has with the 14-year-old Heartbreaker/Calvados Vurelise to take second. Sophie Cuthbert took third on Walty L, a Pierrot/Hemmingway 13-year-old mare.
