Katie Woods Young takes the top spot in the Haygain pony discovery second round at Tillyoch

Katie Woods Young triumphed in the Haygain pony discovery second round at Tillyoch EC with Apache Joe.

The contenders were whittled down to just two for the final jump-off, Katie going head-to-head with 15-year-old Caroline Cook.  Drawn first, Katie set a speedy target on her 10-year-old appaloosa Apache Joe.  And despite Caroline’s challenge with the 13-year-old mare Dow Wilma, Katie, 13, remained in the top spot by two sec.

Callie Lorimer, 14 – the fastest four faulter in round two after hittng the final fence – took third on the nine-year-old Ballacurra Belle.
