Dan Moseley and Dakota post a double at Lincoln County

Dan Moseley and Dakota were on top form at Lincoln County show, notching up an amazing double of wins, heading the initial speed and the final grand prix.

They found all the answers over Di Boddy’s grand prix track to outpace all their rivals to lift the £1,000 first prize.

Tim Davies took second on Valentijn O and fifth with Havanna De Cavron. Mennell Watson claimed third on Helen van Heyningan’s home-bred eight-year-old Cobretti stallion Whisper In The Wind with Alex Thompson fourth on Claddagh Iroko.

Dan had fired a warning shot on day one, taking the opening Riseholme College speed on the eight-year-old Dakota, a Dutch mare with Andiamo/Vancouver bloodlines. Dan also took sixth with relatively new ride Monsoon Monday, previously ridden by Phllip Spivey. Mark Edwards was second and fourth with Unbelievable Eddie and Quidde Du Buisson Z with Sally Hopkinson third on Cartouche II and Paul Barker in fifth on Sandora Z.

Sally and the Carnute 13-year-old Cartouche were in top form in the accumulator, outpacing all rivals to take the top spot. Chelsea Skelton brought Millfield Baloney into second ahead of third-placed Mark Edwards and Quidde Du Buisson Z. Vere Phillipps was fourth on Skerne Scipio with Keith Doyle fifth on Dikarla Blue and Dan Moseley’s Ringo R sixth.

Second in the grand prix, Tim and the Ferro 14-year-old Valentijn O posted their own victory on day one, heading the midday stakes in fine style in the vast, beautifully green main arena at Lincoln. It also went towards earning Tim the leading rider award.

Sian Edwards brought Adriarna into second with Danielle Farnsworth third on Jako. Sally Hopkinson was fourth on Temple Marple with Keith Doyle fifth on Harlequin Dunraven and Chelsea and Millfield Baloney sixth.

Keith headed the six-bar on Elmo Brown, a seven-year-old with Quality/No Limit bloodlines. Mennell and Whisper In The Wind took second with Phillip Curtis and the seven-year-old Arkan III/Polydor stallion Arkantine SR third.
