Billy Twomey is second in Paris
British-based Irishman Billy Twomey took second in the 5* 1.45m on the Irish-bred 12-year-old stallion Ardcolum Duke on the Global Champions tour, Paris. The pair finished 1.75 sec behind the winner, France’s Harold Boisset on T’Obetty du Domaine. Alexandra Thornton eased Charielle into seventh.
A steady clear in the 1.50m speed for Scott Brash and Hello Guv’Nor took 16th. Laura Renwick and Heliodor Hybris had a fast four faults, dropping them from a possible third to 23rd.
Six shared the six-bar equally after four rounds, including Laura on Heliodor Hybris and Billy with Tin Tin.
Claire Beecroft was third in the 1* 1.20/1.25m on the Vermont 10-year-old Burgana just 0.30 sec behind the winner. Tess Carmichael finished eighth on Unique III.
Tess took seventh on Skara Glen’s Voltan H in the 1.35/1.40m speed.
Imogen Beecroft took fifth 1.28 sec behind the winner in the Magic Millions 1.15m on Roscoe’s Amour, and four faults n the second phase with second ride Untouchable dropped her to 15th. Alicia Store was eighth on Capellini II.
