Tracy Priest is on winning form at Royal Norfolk

Fresh from her win at Hickstead in the Bunn Leisure Derby Tankard, Tracy Priest and the ultra-consistent, scopey Caristo VDL topped the area trial at Royal Norfolk. The Silverstone/Quick Star nine-year-old supplied the only double clear of the class.

Emma O’Dwyer and the Guidam/Cavalier Royale 10-year-old HHS Figero took second with Dale Burnham and the nine-year-old Romanov daughter Romanella Gold in third. Laura Renwick was fourth on Rembrandt Blue with Helen Tredwell fifth on the Garrett’s Sebastian VII and Paul Crago’s Valentino IX sixth.

Laura was in to form in the Speedi-Beet HOYS grade C, winning the 33 starter class on Utrillo De Breve, aselle Francais eight-year-old stallion by Lauxley De Breve. Ben Bick took the second qualifying spot on Rumers Cascari, a Cascari/Coronado seven-year-old, with Derek McCoppin also off to HOYS in third with the Chacco-Blue/Cento seven-year-old Mr Blue Sky.

Rowan Willis topped the A and B 1.40m with Shark II, an eight-year-old by Arko and out of the Pilot mare Showtime - both former top rides of Nick Skelton. Abbe Elliott eased the Lupicor 13-year-old Wilandri E into second ahead of third-placed Chloe Winchester and the Sydney/Guidam 11-year-old mare Synique. Derek McCoppin was fourth with Whiterock Lucky Lady and Helen Tredwell claimed fifth on Constant.

Charlie Jones headed the 1.25m on the Cyrano 10-year-old Hattrick Magic, relegating Daniella Johnstone into second on the Balou Du Rouet/Cavalier Royale nine-year-old Cavalier Road. Tim Page was third on the nine-year-old Hazevern Freddie Mercury.

Tim topped the Foxhunter on the Amadeus/Tygo seven-year-old Elvera, beating Darren Wise into second on Full of Beans with Lizzie Gray in third on Capitol Star. The top six in this class also gained qualification at The Game Fair, Ragley Hall in Warwickshire.

Colin Keeling won the 1.20m on the Ard VDL Douglas 11-year-old palomino Ard Spun Gold. Portia Howard was second on the Brilliant Lad 14-year-old Rinroe Supreme with Caroline Casburn in third on the eight-year-old Topspin.
