Jemma Kirk takes second on day one at Ascain, France
Jemma Kirk took second in the 2* 1.30 on the nine-year-old French stallion Tchoupi Pironniere 1.51 sec beind the pace in Ascain 2*, France. Philip Spivey took 14th on the Romanov/Kannan seven-year-old Kasparov.
And Jemma also claimed fourth with Quelisto (pictured) in the 1.40m, 1.18 sec in arrears. Philip and Smirnov, another sired by Romanov, took eighth. Anna Power was 13th and 14th on Blazer B and Chesterfield Z. Jemma wth second ride Carbani and Philip on Darya-I-Nur also jumped steady double clears to finish further down the line.
In Arnhem, Netherlands, William Funnell was eighth on the home-bred Billy Congo/Kannan nine-year-old Billy Cool in the 3* 1.35m. Jess Mendoza jumped a steady double clear on Jonker van Sombeke to finish down the line.
Brits gave their horses a run out in the 1.40m speed – William (Billy Angelo) and Jess (Sam De Bacon) both picked up one time fault, Jess and Toy Boy finished on two time faults and William with Billy Congo clocked three faults.
