Samantha Jimmison wins the British novice second round at Willow Bank
Samantha Jimmison outpaced her 30 rivals on Rachel Evison’s Carlensky to top the KBIS British novice second round at Willow Bank Equestrian Centre.
The German mare Carlensky has competed with Samantha for 12 months, and their established partnership showed here as the six-year-old answered Samantha’s every call to win.
Lucy Wilson eased into second on Zarcolas, an eight-year-old son of Marcolas G, Simon Nicholson’s 2007 HOYS Foxhunter champion.
Third was awarded to Kirsty Annable on the seven-year-old Secret Star, just ahead of fourth-placed Matthew Yates on the five-year-old Shannodale SOS, who shares his sire Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan with Holly Gillott’s multi-winning six-year-old Grennanstown Sarco Luxhill.
Ten treble clears filled the qualifying places, and also off to the National Championships final at Stoneleigh are Lucy Gilsenan on Ballybane Tulira, Jonathan Foyle with Primitive Ice, Kate Johnstone and Elton John II, Mary Crawford on Limbo Van De Brouwershore, Katy Appleby riding Ducal Lord Nelson and Adam Taylor with Farenheit De La Mologne.
