The USA's McLain Ward takes over the world number one spot
The USA’s double Olympic team gold medallist McLain Ward (pictured on Rothchild) has shot to the top of the Longines world rankings to take the world number one spot. It is well deserved. McLain has posted several fantastic wins of late, and was recently named on the United States shortlist with HH Azur and Rothchild.
“We are thrilled for McLain, his owners, and his support team. He is an extremely talented rider who produces horses with care and attention to detail. This is wonderful recognition and a great boost for US show jumping.” said Robert Ridland, USA Chef d’Equipe.
France’s Simon Delestre drops to number two 19 points behind on 3080 after being in the number one spot since March, with Germany’s Christian Ahlmann (2999) in third. France’s Penelope Leprevost (2986) is in fourth ahead of Britain’s Scott Brash (2715) in fifth.
The USA’s Kent Farrington – double winner at Windsor – takes sixth spot on 2678.
