Kerry Brennan and Wellington M win the area trial at Warrington

Kerry Brennan and the game Wellington M gave their all to take the Beer Cellars UK area trial in fine style at Warrington. Holly Gillott eased the Irish-bred eight-year-old Lammy Beach (Beach Ball/Coevers Diamond Boy) into second with Alec Trickett and One Two Watch, a Calvaro Z/Darco 10-year-old, in third.

Making it a family double, Kerry’s mom Liane Smith claimed victory in the Foxhunter on the Verdi/Wolfgang six-year-old Flinstone De Ness. John Daker and the Heartbreaker seven-year-old Sweet Candy took second with Chris Moorhouse in third on the 11-year-old Formidable.

The Speedi-Beet HOYS grade C proved a great class for Team HK Horses, with Richard Howley heading the class to take the top NEC ticket on the Quorum De Laubry seven-year-old Jimmy Mack Van Berkenbrock and his partner Morgan Kent in second on Millfield Ester, a seven-year-old with Numero Uno/Baloubet Du Rouet bloodlines. Richard Barton claimed the third qualifying place on the eight-year-old mare Donata.

Andrew Mizon topped the 1.30m with the Chico’s Boy 11-year-old NCS Chico’s Junior from Alison Barton and the 10-year-old Billy Anna. And Angie von Essen took the B and C with the Cheers Cassini/Kildaton King nine-year-old One Cardamon from second-placed Corinne Collins on Dolores P.

Anya Brown notched up a double, taking the novice on the Lupicor/Pouchka III nine-year-old Lilly The Pink IV and the 1.15m members cup on the Jersey sired nine-year-old Carlos VI.
