William Funnell wins in Wierden

At Wierden 2*, The Netherlands, William Funnell topped the 2* 1.35m on the Billy Congo/Kannan seven-year-old mare Billy Cool, taking the class by more than one and half sec.

Julie Andrews brought Emelie Marsh’s Baloubet Du Rouet/Renville 14-year-old Canora into third. A time fault in the jump-off pushed James Billington and the seven-year-old Cartani/Lord stallion VDL Cartello into 18th.

And Julie took second with the Oklund/Topas 13-year-old Wilando B in the 2* winning round, just a sec behind the winner Wout-Jan van der Schans on Caapverdi. William on Billy Congo and Spencer Roe’s Chaccomo Agostini had four faults in round one to drop down the line.

In the 1* 1.30m speed, William took 15th on the Billy Congo seven-year-old Billy Chatter with John Popely on the six-year-old Carosso VDL daughter For Fun in 18th – both posting steady clears. Julia Andrews on Damion Star and James Billington with VDL Friso SMH both incurred four faults.
