Nicole Pavitt is a fraction away from victory in Chantilly
At the Longines Global Champions tour of Chantilly, Nicole Pavitt was only 0.08 sec from winning the 2* 1.35m on Virginia Quine’s speedy 14-year-old Victor Blue. And her sister Louise eased the Chellano Z 15-year-old Unex Chamberlain Z into fourth. Four faults dropped British-based Irishman David Simpson and Starfighter down the line.
But David claimed second in the seven-year-old with the Katoki/Cassini I Holsteiner gelding Keoki, almost two sec behind the winner. And David also took seventh on the nine-year-old Unex Cognac IV in the 2* 1.40m speed. Skye Higgin and the Quidam De Revel 12-year-old Quarina De Blondel took 11th and Nicole and Old Lodge’s Chellano Z 11-year-old Shahenaz took 13th. A steadier clear from Sam Ward on Quality II put them in 22nd.
Alexandra Thornton took 10th in the 1.45m speed on the Chacco-Blue/Argentinus 10-year-old Charielle. Four faults dropped Laura Renwick and Rembrandt Blue down the line with Scott Brash and Hello Forever on five faults.
In the 1*, Nina Barbour took second in the 1.35m with Tracy Priest’s Chambertin/Lord Calando 16-year-old Calle, just 0.26 sec behind the pace, and finished 12th in the 1.25m on the Dorado 11-year-old Havana.
