Julie Andrews was half a sec behind the winner in the Robert Vos Sporthorses 2* 1.40m with the Oklund/Topas 13-year-old Wilando B. Spencer Roe and the impressive Chacco-Blue/Acord II 10-year-old stallion Chaccomo Agostini took sixth with William Funnell and his home-bred 13-year-old stallion Billy Congo in 13th with a slow double clear.
In the Roelofsen Horse Trucks world ranking 1.45m, James Billington was best Brit with sixth place on Baltic VDL, a 10-year-old stallion with Quaprice Z/Jus De Pomme bloodines. They were three and a half sec behind the winner, The Netherlands’ Remco Been on Holland VD Bisschop. Specner Roe posted a double clear for eighth on the Padinus 13-year-old Wonder Why and Mark Turnbull, also double clear, was ninth on the Tangelo Van De Zuuthoeve nine-year-old Cartouch III.
John Popely took 15th with the Holsteiner nine-year-old Lancer VI with eight faults in the jump-off, and William on Billy Angelo and Julie with Ayrton IV both incurred four in round one.
William took fourth in the 2* 1.35m on Billy Cool almost five sec behind the winner.
In the 1* 1.20m speed, Brits gave their young horses a run out with William and the Billy Congo seven-year-old Billy Chatter in 13th, James Billington and the Bugatti VDL six-year-old VDL Friso SMH in 14th and Mark Turnbull on the Lupicor eight-year-old Ashton Dakota 15th – all with steady clears.
